OPP commemorates 50 years of the Franco Ontarian flag

You may notice a specially wrapped green and white Ontario Provincial Police cruiser out and about in the region.
The OPP says it’s proud to officially launch the police vehicle to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag.
Officials say it’s now travelling through eastern and northern Ontario, is driven by a bilingual officer and provides a visual representation of the OPP’s commitment to French language services and Franco-Ontarian communities.
The vehicle will be in Sudbury on September 25, for celebrations marking 50 years since the flag was first raised at the University of Sudbury in 1975.
The Franco-Ontarian flag was co-created by North Bay’s Michel Dupuis and Laurentian University Professor Gaétan Gervais.
