Over $4.8 million in infrastructure funding for area communities

Eleven municipalities in Nipissing are getting $4.82 million in federal infrastructure funding this year.
Pauline Rochefort, Member of Parliament for Nipissing-Timiskaming announced the funding through the Canada Community-Building Fund.
The City of North Bay receives the lion’s share, over $3.4 million.
“Investments like this allow our municipalities to tackle infrastructure priorities that support safe, healthy, and thriving communities,” says Rochefort. “Whether it’s improving local roads, enhancing water systems, or building community spaces, this funding will help us meet both current needs and future growth.”
Funding allocations in Nipissing, include:
- Bonfield – $140,563
- Callander – $259,643
- Calvin – $36,483
- Chisholm – $85,936
- East Ferris – $323,964
- Mattawa – $123,205
- Mattawan – $10,021
- Nipissing Township $115,869
- North Bay – $3,449,374
- Papineau-Cameron – $64,321
- Powassan – $219,163
Some area projects include road work in East Ferris and Papineau-Cameron and a large culvert replacement in Powassan.
