Pace, John “Jack”

Pace, John “Jack”

Passed away at his residence at Marina Point on Friday, October 17, 2025 at the age of 88 years. He was the beloved husband of 67 years to Fay Pace (nee Gardiner). Dear father of Doug, David, and Darren (Kelli). He will be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Lisa, Mitchell, Alexander (Sasha), Sean, Kaitlin and Elizabeth. Jack is also survived by his sister Marie Gjos, sister in-law Lorna Hagan and brother in-law Gary Gardiner (Penny).

Born in Thessalon, Jack dedicated 37 years of his life to serving and protecting his community as a proud member of the Ontario Provincial Police. His career reflected his strong sense of duty, integrity, and compassion — qualities that earned him the respect of colleagues and the gratitude of countless residents across Ontario.

In his younger years, Jack could often be found outdoors — hunting, fishing, or enjoying the quiet beauty of the northern lakes and forests. Some of his fondest memories were made camping with family at Marten River, where evenings by the fire and laughter under the stars became cherished family traditions.

A lifelong supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays, Jack rarely missed a game, cheering on his teams with loyal enthusiasm and good-natured optimism.

He was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, first in Elmvale and later in North Bay, where he built lasting friendships and upheld the values of brotherhood and community service.

Jack will be remembered for his quiet strength, his wit, and the love he had for his family.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday November 15, 2025 at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Road, North Bay, from 10 am until 12pm (noon) with a funeral service to follow at noon.  In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Jack to the C.N.I.B. or the Canadian Hearing Services will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.

May he rest in peace knowing he served his community well and loved deeply.
