Pauline Gauthier

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pauline at age 78. Pauline passed peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the West Nipissing General Hospital, with family by her side.

Daughter of the late Ovila Lavigne and the late Marie-Anne Lavigne (nee Brazeau) (late Pete McDonald). Beloved wife of the late Arthur Gauthier. Loving mother of Michele, Carmel and the late Luc Malette. She was the cherished grandmother of Mathieu, Josee and Lyne and great-grandmother of Navea, Nyjah and Kashten.

Pauline will always be remembered by her sisters Nicole Janson (Andre) and Diane Shank (Michel). She is predeceased by her siblings Georgette Champagne (late Pierre), Florian Lavigne (Suzette), Laurette Pretty (William), Rheal Lavigne (late Lorraine), Francoise Diefenbeck (late Phillip) and Anonciale Rivet (late Lionel).

Pauline loved music and dancing. She would always have a smile and a giggle.

She worked for many years at Carl’s pub and was known for her friendliness and being a good listener.

Family and friends are invited to McGuinty Funeral Home (Sturgeon Falls) on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Paroisse Sacre-Coeur (Sturgeon Falls) on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by her family.
