Pauline Rochefort Ready to Lead

Pauline Rochefort, Mayor of the Municipality of East Ferris, has announced that she is running for the position of Member of Parliament for Nipissing-Timiskaming.
“I am a contender for the nomination, and I have chosen to announce my intention today, February 15th, as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Canadian flag. There has never been a more opportune moment in our recent history to proudly proclaim our citizenship. There has never been a more important time to stand up for Canada, to invest in Nipissing-Timiskaming and to continue our journey as a nation of builders,” announced Ms. Rochefort.
Pauline Rochefort developed a passion for community involvement at an early age. With over 30 years of experience in the fields of economic development, finance and business strategy she supported local businesses through the Business Development Bank of Canada and then headed the Canadian Wood Council. Pauline has served the Municipality of East Ferris for over a decade and is now in her second term as Mayor.

Her Council's achievements are numerous including the creation of a new medical office and pharmacy, as well as the establishment of new municipal and recreational facilities. She works with all political leaders and is now committed to defending the interests of the Nipissing-Timiskaming region. “It would be a privilege to represent the citizens of Nipissing-Timiskaming and all the communities in the constituency, from Englehart in the north to Trout Creek in the south, via Mattawa in the east and Bear Island in the west... and all the communities in between at the heart of our region,” said Pauline Rochefort when she announced that she was a Liberal Contestant. She added: “I pledge to be your voice in Ottawa every day, and to work tirelessly on your behalf to continue to advance the dreams and aspirations of Nipissing-Timiskaming!

I will work at tackling the high cost of living and search for ways to unleash our region’s potential with investments and jobs.” “I have known Pauline Rochefort for many years,” said MP Anthony Rota. “In East Ferris, she has been a strong advocate for her community. I was very happy when she agreed to run because with her experience, knowledge and ability, she is the right person to move us forward in Nipissing-Timiskaming. She will work intelligently and tirelessly for us.”
Pauline announced her candidacy during the East Ferris Carnival and was accompanied by her family and friends including her 94-year-old father and founder of BRL Limited, Bernard Rochefort who proudly proclaimed, “I am the Honorary Chair of the Pauline Rochefort Campaign!”

Her campaign will be led by Michel Champagne and Dan Cleroux in Timiskaming.
