Peter Rusak

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Rusak, who left us peacefully surrounded by family at the Noth Bay Regional Hospital on March 28th, 2026 at the age of 62.

Peter was predeceased by his father Mieczyslaw (Mike) Rusak and his mother Kata Rusak (nee Zeljkovic). He will be deeply missed by his sister Mary (Jeffrey Weir), his niece Christina, and nephew Michael (Elizabeth).

Peter was born on January 26,1964 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Peter attended public school in Virginatown, graduated high school at KLCVI, and attended Northern College where he received his diploma as an Electrical Technologist.

Peter lived at his home in Kearns most of his life, where he enjoyed hobbies such as minerology, fishing and gardening. Peter also enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Labyrinth Lake, fishing from the dock, mowing the lawn, and tending to the brush.

Peter’s last years were spent at the Morin Residence in North Bay. Thank you to his support workers Kim, Allysa, and Megan. Special thanks to the staff at Morin House and the nurses and doctors at the CCU at the North Bay hospital. The family expresses sincere gratitude to nurses Avery, Megan, Wendy and Jenna for their end-of-life care of Peter.

Peter will be laid to rest with his parents at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery at a later date, where there will be a graveside celebration of life.
