By Richard Coffin

A 27-year-old city man is facing a slew of charges, including a half dozen counts of fail to comply with a release order, after a stabbing early Wednesday.

The North Bay Police Service say officers were called to a disturbance on Gladstone Avenue just after 12:30 am and found a man suffering from stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the investigation revealed a man arrived at the residence late Tuesday night with a vehicle damaged and person assaulted in a driveway.

After leaving the area, then returning an hour and a half later police say a window was smashed, there was an altercation inside the home, the adult male victim was stabbed, and a backpack was stolen.

The accused, who was later located by police, faces 15 charges, including break and enter, robbery, assault, carrying a concealed weapon and more.

He remains in custody for a bail hearing.

Police say the accused and victim are known to each other.
