Don’t be alarmed if you see an increased police presence, including officers in tactical gear in the 600 block of Main West Thursday afternoon.

The North Bay Police Service is conducting an Emergency Response Team training exercise, starting at 3 pm and continuing through the evening.

Police vehicles and drones may also be operating nearby.

Officials say the training exercise is not expected to result in any road closures or disruptions to daily activities. The area will be clearly marked; however, residents are asked to use caution when near emergency vehicles and personnel.

The NBPS Emergency Response Team utilizes specialized skills, tactics, and equipment to protect public safety and respond to unpredictable situations and all types of high-risk incidents.
