Premier Road Sidewalk Program Underway

The City of North Bay is pleased to announce that construction is now underway to upgrade a section of Premier Road, from Fowler Street to Champlain Park, including the installation of new sidewalks.

Staging for the project has been completed, and the contractor, Pioneer Construction Inc., will begin pulverizing the existing roadway this week. This process involves grinding the current pavement, which will be repurposed to form the base for the new sidewalks.

Throughout the majority of the project, the road surface within the construction area will remain gravel while crews work on installing sidewalks, storm drainage ditches, and other supporting infrastructure. Completion is tentatively scheduled for late October.

This project will enhance safety, accessibility, and connectivity for both residents and visitors.

One lane of traffic will be maintained for local access, with possible temporary delays. Pedestrian access will also be maintained.
