Project Red Ribbon underway
MADD Nipissing is urging people to drive sober during the holidays.
Officials launched their Project Red Ribbon campaign on the weekend.
The annual campaign, which runs through Jan. 5, encourages Canadians to wear a red ribbon or display a red ribbon decal as a symbol of their commitment to never drive impaired and to support victims and survivors of impaired driving.
The local launch on Saturday took place at the end of Tower Drive and included a reflective hike to the MADD Nipissing memorial space at Hillside Lake.
Officials say it’s a reminder of why everyone needs to continue to work together to stop impaired driving and keep the community safe.
