Prototype handrails being tested at Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens
Fans in stands will notice something new at Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens.
The city says new handrails are being installed over the next few weeks, with a few prototypes currently being tested.
Officials are making sure they connect properly to the existing concrete.
They say the full installation will be completed in early October, with a handrail at every row of each staircase to provide support for those who need it.
The city adds the final rails will be slightly shorter than the current prototypes, which will help minimize their impact on sightlines.
