Province honours 36 local volunteers

Three dozen local volunteers are being honoured by the province.
Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing, says they’re recognizing the outstanding contributions of 36 local volunteers who received the 2025 Ontario Volunteer Service Award.
He says the award is given annually for notable contributions and service to organizations, including non-profits, hospitals, community centres, libraries, schools and community associations.
“The 2025 Ontario Volunteer Service Award recipients dedicate their time to supporting a diverse array of organizations and causes,” says Fedeli. “We are proud to recognize the incredible efforts from volunteers within Nipissing and thank them for their continuous dedication to supporting our community.”
Local volunteer recipients include:

- Kayden Bergeron youth volunteer with Duke of Edinburgh – Costa Rica

- Thelma Blackburn 10 years f volunteering with Friends of Camp Caritou
- Marjorie Brohman 30 years of volunteering with Girl Guides of Canada – Community 34 – North Bay

- Addison Caciagli Rocha youth volunteer with Duke of Edinburgh – Costa Rica

Across Ontario, nearly 5,400 volunteers are receiving Ontario Volunteer Service Awards this year.
A local ceremony was held Thursday.
