Provincial infrastructure funding for several area municipalities

Over $6.1 million in provincial funding is on its way to eleven municipalities in Nipissing.

MPP Vic Fedeli announced the 2026 Ontario Community Infrastructure Funding (OCIF) is to help municipalities across the riding renew and rehabilitate critical infrastructure.

North Bay receives the most funding, at $4.8 million.

Eight municipalities are receiving the minimum grant amount of $125,000.

That’s an increase of $25,000 over last year.

“The Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund helps small, rural and northern communities address critical infrastructure such as roads, bridges, water and wastewater systems,” says Fedeli. “In the face of tariffs and economic uncertainty, our government is committed to protecting Ontario by keeping workers on the job, strengthening our economy, and creating more jobs within our communities.”

The province adds communities may accumulate funding for up to five years to address larger infrastructure projects.

  • City of North Bay $4,868,503
  • Township of Mattawa $151,268
  • Municipality of Powassan $138,304
  • Township of Calvin $125,000
