Firing on all cylinders early, the Powassan Voodoos pumped in four goals before the contest was eight and a half minutes old as they went on to easily dispatch the French River Rapids 12-0 Friday in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League blowout at Noelville Arena.

Voodoos’ rookie defenceman Braeden Begley then clicked a couple of shifts later as he made an impressive end-to-end rush before ripping a shot high over the blocker of Rapids’ netminder Matis Bureau-Morel.

Building on that, Caleb Dawson banged in his 17th of the season as he converted with a close-range tip-in.

The visitors the saw Owen Head connect moments later by collecting the leftovers laying at the top of the crease.

Three more tallies in the middle stanza put Powassan comfortably in control.

Bradley bagged one 11 seconds into the frame as he stuffed in a rebound after a Benjamin Coupal attempt from the right circle.

Continuing to click offensively, Coupal got one at even strength by knocking in a loose puck before Ryan Saginaw supplied a man advantage effort after burying a Begley drop pass.

Capping off the romp in the third, the Voodoos’ Jax Pereira potted a pair while Head; Rousseau and Dawson also found the back of the net to complete the rout.
