R.I.D.E. Does it Again!

On January 18th, 2024, a woman from Astorville was charged with Impaired Driving, after being stopped during a R.I.D.E. program in North Bay.

Just before midnight on January 18th, two officers from the North Bay Police Service were conducting a R.I.D.E (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Laurentian Avenue, in North Bay.  A vehicle was stopped and a 34-year-old female from Astorville was identified as the driver and was found to be impaired by alcohol.  She was arrested and transported to North Bay Police Service Headquarters, where further testes were conducted.  She was subsequently charged with one count of Operation While Impaired by Alcohol and one count of Operation with a Blood-alcohol Concentration over 80mg.

The accused was later released on an Undertaking with a future court date.

As a result of the same R.I.D.E. program, two people were charged with Drive While Suspended and one person was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for not having the proper documents.

Police conduct R.I.D.E. programs regularly in order to keep our roads safe.
