Rahnmet North Bay Panthers 9U squad make it to the Semi-Finals

The Rahnmet North Bay Panthers 9U squad had their first tournament of the year in Orillia over the Victoria Day weekend and went 3-0 in round robin play, losing in the semi-finals to a strong Midland-Penetang Twins side.
In the first game of the weekend the Panthers beat the Orillia Royals 12-11 on Friday. Adrian Hosein drove in four runs on two hits, while Jude Martel took player of the game honours as he collected three hits and turned a double play, catching a line drive at shortstop and tagging out the runner to end the inning.
In their second game, they handled the Riverside Royals 12-1. Michael Patreau drove in four runs on four hits to lead the Panthers in that category. Hosein was named player of the game, with a couple of hits and making several put outs around the diamond throughout the contest.
The Panthers wrapped up round robin play with a 14-3 win over the Leaside Leafs on Sunday morning. Eli McCann was named player of the game as he had three base hits and helped turn a double play.
In the semifinal game against Midland-Penetang, the Twins went up early putting up three runs in both the first and second innings, but the Panthers fought back and tied it in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a triple by Ben Laframboise, a single by Kieran Vlach, and a single by Jacob Wrixon. However, in the top of the sixth the Twins scored six runs to take a 12-6 lead. The Panthers tried to rally in their last at-bat but came up just short falling 12-9. Michael Patreau was named player of the game, going 3-4 with three RBI.
The Rahnmet Norh Bay Panthers 9U team includes Adrian Hosein, Ben Laframboise, Blaise Prytula, Dallas Monette-Taylor, Elijah McCann, Jacob Wrixon, Jason Pickles Sookram, Jude Martel, Kieran Vlach, Mason Auger, Michael Patreau and William Leggett.
Next up, the Panthers travel to Sault Ste. Marie in two weekends for a pair of exhibition doubleheaders against the two-time defending provincial champion Soo Black Sox.
