REISE, Ernest
Peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his family at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Tuesday May 26, 2026, at the age of 85 years.
The family would like to extend many heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care Ernie received from the doctors, nurses and support staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre during his final days. A special thanks to Dr. Spencer and Sandie for the many years of care and compassion given to Ernie and his family.
Ernie was a fighter for sure, he outlived the 5 year expectation of the triple bypass he underwent 40 years ago. He not only outlived it, he truly lived every moment of those extra years he was given.
Ernest was the beloved husband of the late Nancy (nee MacDonald) Reise, and the loving father to Michael Reise (Donna), the late David Reise (Kathleen), and Kathy Jackson. He was the cherished grandfather to Cassy, Ryan (Meganne), Madison, and great-grandfather to Rylee, Emersyn, and Brady. Ernest will be lovingly remembered by his brother Ken Reise (Shirley). Ernest is predeceased by his brother Don Reise (Brenda), as well as his parents Eric Reise, and Anne (nee Dubbin/Baben) Reise. He will also be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Whether fishing, pool sharking, supporting the grandchildren/great grandchild’s sporting or school events, cheering on the Trappers and Batallion or simply enjoying his daily coffee club cronies, Ernie will be remembered for his constant smile, jokes, or simply the way he loved to antagonize anyone and everyone he knew. But when all was said and done, Ernie would be the first to jump in and assist anyone who needed it. He was a member of the Laurentian Wesleyan Church and enjoyed his Sunday services and their community.
As per Ernest’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held Saturday June 13th at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 599 on Legion Road in North Bay from 1 – 4 pm.
If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Laurentian Wesleyan Church would be gratefully acknowledged by his family. Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
