Request for respect of community spaces in West Nipissing
Residents in West Nipissing are being asked to help protect and respect community spaces.
In a release, officials say the outdoor rink building in Cache Bay has been repeatedly vandalized, and if it continues, they say the building may need to be closed to the public.
The municipality also says snow machines have been driven on the Verner Outdoor Rink.

They say this creates a serious safety risk and can damage the ice surface, pointing out motorized vehicles are strictly prohibited on public outdoor rinks and within parks to protect both the ice and park infrastructure.
“Shared spaces come with shared responsibilities,” states a release. “Let’s all do our part to protect our community spaces so they remain open and enjoyable for all. We appreciate parents and guardians helping to encourage youth to respect these facilities.”
