Rhoda Wager (nee Doherty)
November 22, 1936 – May 30, 2026
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Cassellholme in North Bay on Saturday May 30, 2026, in her 90th year.
Reunited with her husband Harold, son Chris and partner Cy, brothers John and Norris, and her parents Russell and Laura Doherty.
Dear mother of Pat (Bill) and Roy (Donna). Proud gramma to Alaina (Rick), Rhianna (Jason), Kristy (Steven) and Zak, and loving great gramma to Blayre, Annika, Garrett and Duncan.
Rhoda is survived by her sister Betty Minielly and sister-in-law Frona Doherty.
In earlier years Rhoda was a homemaker and in the 1970’s also worked at Happy Landing in South River. She then spent her retirement time between Toronto and maintaining her home in South River. In 2000 she moved to the Sarnia area to help care for her mother. This is where she met and made great friends with Doris, Pearl, Mike and Sandy through her connection with the Sarnia Church of Christ. Special thanks to them for being there for her. In 2020 Rhoda moved back to North Bay to be closer to her family.
The family wishes to thank Casselholme for their care, special thanks to Tracy (spiritual advisor) and Kathryn, RN, as well as the staff on the second floor. Your assistance and caring was most thoughtful and very much appreciated.
A very special thank you to Mike and Sandy Lunn for all of your assistance, you were like family to her.
As per Rhoda’s wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at South River Cemetery on Friday June 5th at 5:00 pm.
