Rock captain Cyr commits to NCAA D-III Albertus Magnus
The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s (NOJHL) Timmins Rock have announced that defenceman Braedyn Cyr has committed to attend NCAA Division III Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Conn., where he will further his education and skate with the Falcons’ men’s hockey program.
A second-team NOJHL All-Star, the 20-year-old Oakville, Ont., product collected 44 points in 51 regular season contests for the Rock during the 2025-26 campaign on six goals and 38 assists.
Overall, the Timmins captain appeared in 100 career league games while registering 73 points from the back end, including a dozen tallies.
He also chipped in with 21 playoff points in 26 total outings as he scored six times and helped set-up 15 others.
Cyr’s five-man advantage markers in the 2026 postseason topped all NOJHL players.
“Braedyn was a model of consistency for our program the last two seasons,” offered Rock head coach and general manager Brandon Perry.
“As team captain this past season, he led our group to an appearance in the league finals and was a great ambassador for our team as well as the Timmins community,” Perry went on to add.
“We are beyond proud of all he has accomplished.”
The Albertus Magnus Falcons compete in the nine-school United Collegiate Hockey Conference.
