Rock Over VooDoo

A slow start cost the Powassan Voodoos as they fell 5-2 to the Timmins Rock in the opening game of the Terry Geddes Cottage Cup, which started today in Collingwood.
The Rock broke open a 1-1 tie with four straight second period goals to take a 5-1 lead into the locker room in the two period contest.
Tyler Brunet banged home a shot late to make it 5-2 and round out the scoring.
Heath Bradley had the other goal for the Voodoos.
Travis Poan, Thomas Beard (2), Philip Lafontaine and Braedyn Cyr scored for the Rock in the win.
Thomas Kniaziew suffered the loss in goal for the Voodoos.
The Voodoos are back in action at 7 p.m. as they play the OJHL's Newmarket Hurricanes.
