The Timmins Rock scored three times on the power play including two on a second period five-minute major, as they defeated the Powassan Voodoos 4-1 at the Powassan Sportsplex on Wednesday night.

Harry Clark had two goals and goaltender Patrick Boivin made 42 saves for the Rock win.

After a scoreless first, the Rock’s Harry Clark with a great shot on a Rock power play to make it 1-0 at 5:02 of the second.



The Voodoos replied on a 2 on 1, as former Rock forward Dylan McElhinny slid a nifty pass to Zach Turner who beat a diving Patrick Boivin to make it 1-1 mid second.

The Rock made the Voodoos pay on a five-minute power play soon after the Voodoos second period equalizer.

Only 7 seconds into the major, Clark went upstairs again, this one from the right circle which made it 2-1 Rock at 10:50.



Just over three and a half minutes on the same power play, on the right side late in the five-minute major, Brant Romaniuk beat Dirracolo on a rush down the right side which made it 3-1 and Rock’s third power play marker of the game and second on the five-minute major at 14:37.

The two goalies made multiple great stops in the game but Boivin held the fort making 42 saves in the win while the Voodoos rang at last six shots off the crossbar and post.

Hayden Rynard added an empty net goal in the final minute to secure the Rock’s 4-1 win in Powassan.

With the Rock win Timmins improves its record to 33-11-2 while the Voodoos drop to 26-16-0-2.
