Sandbag Filling Stations Shift to Self-Serve

Starting today, sandbag filling stations at Sunset and Champlain parks will become self-serve due to reduced demand.

Prefilled sandbags are still available for pickup to residents for reinforcing breakwalls and keeping water away from buildings.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority advises the public to exercise caution by keeping children and pets away from watercourses and shorelines. Residents and visitors, particularly those residing in low-lying areas, are urged to stay vigilant and monitor evolving conditions, taking necessary precautions during periods of heightened water flow.
