Sandbag Stations Remain Open

Sandbag filling stations remain open this week due to ongoing flood potential along the Lake Nipissing shoreline.

Stations will be staffed today through Friday during the following hours:
• Public Works on Franklin Street, open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Champlain Park at the end of Premier Road, open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Sunset Park at end of Sunset Boulevard, open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hours of operation may change based on demand.

These stations were busy throughout the weekend, with more than 5,000 sandbags distributed to residents.

Sandbags are intended to help reinforce breakwalls and act as barriers to prevent water from reaching structures.

The City continues to closely monitor lake levels and weather conditions. Updates will be provided as conditions change.
