Sauve: Marcel Gene

Sauve: Marcel Gene
Marcel Gene Sauve

I extend my deepest condolences for the loss of Marcel Gene Sauve. Born on June 6, 1945, Marcel lived a life filled with love, family, and a passion for music. Tragically, he passed away on January 8, 2024, at Cassellholme in North Bay, leaving behind cherished memories and a void in the hearts of those who knew him.

Marcel was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Lise Hampel. Marcel is survived by his son Mike Sauve, daughter Marilyn Crites (Gerald), and son Rob Sauve (Melanie). He is also survived by his stepson Marc Hampel (Cindy) and stepdaughter Chantal Hampel (Alain).

Marcel's family continued to grow with the arrival of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His daughter Marilyn blessed him with two grandchildren: son Daniel (Emilia) and daughter Nicole (Andrew). Daniel and Emilia in turn gifted Marcel with great-grandchildren named Grimm, while Nicole and Andrew brought Ellie into his life. Rob and Melanie's family included their child Taylor, making Marcel's heart overflow with joy.

In addition to his biological children, Marcel embraced his stepchildren as his own. Marc Hampel (Cindy), his stepson, gave him two grandsons, Marc Jr. and Steve (Courtney). Chantal Hampel (Alain), Marcel's stepdaughter, added to his family with grandsons Philip (Aleshia) and Sebastien. Marcel cherished every moment spent with his stepchildren and their families, creating lasting memories and building strong bonds.

Marcel hailed from a large and loving family. While some of his siblings, namely Reg, Jeanette, Lillian, and Alcide, had already passed away, he found comfort and support from his living siblings: Francis, Rose, Len, Evelyn, Jeanine, Francine, and Claude. Through the highs and lows of life, Marcel's siblings remained a source of strength, love, and companionship.

Marcel's passion for music was well-known among his family and friends. He found solace and joy in playing the guitar and his mandolin, and his soulful voice sang the melodies of country and bluegrass. His talent and love for music were shared with loved ones, creating beautiful moments filled with laughter, song, and togetherness.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Cassellholme for their exceptional care and support during Marcel's time there. Their dedication and kindness brought comfort to Marcel and peace of mind to his loved ones.

To honor Marcel's life, a Celebration of Life will be held on February 24, 2024, at the West Ferris Legion located at 30 Legion Dr. in North Bay, Ontario. The event will commence at 7 PM and continue until 11 PM. It will be an evening filled with reminiscing, sharing stories, and celebrating the beautiful life that Marcel lived.

Marcel Gene Sauve will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His warm smile, gentle nature, and love for music touched the lives of many. Although he is no longer physically present, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
