Man Charged with assault and weapon offences

The North Bay Police Service has arrested and charged a 56-year-old male with assault and weapons offences.

On October 21, 2024, members of the North Bay Police Service received a report that the accused was threatening a victim with an edged weapon on the street in the 200-block of McIntyre Street East, North Bay.

The accused began walking down the street and threatened another victim in the area. Officers located the accused in the 300-block of Lakeshore Drive, where he was arrested and charged.

The accused in this incident is Richard Allen MCARTHUR, male, age 56, of North Bay, who is charged with:

• One count of Assault with A Weapon
• One count of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
• One count of Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm

A searched incident to arrest by police of the accused located a pair of scissors.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
