Several issues the focus of local rally on Saturday

There’s no shortage of grievances being protested across the country, including locally, on Saturday.
Draw The Line North Bay is rallying in front of city hall at 11 am.
“With coordinated actions in over 60 cities, this mobilization will be an unprecedented and historic coming together of 300+ climate justice, migrant justice, Indigenous justice, labour rights, anti-war, and Palestine solidarity groups,” states a release. “Key demands of the Canada-wide actions are to put people over corporate profit by funding our families and communities, refuse ongoing colonialism and uphold Indigenous Sovereignty, stop blaming migrants and demand full immigration status for all now, end the war machine and stand for justice and peace, and end the era of fossil fuels and protect Mother Earth.”
With a federal budget coming this fall, the groups are demanding the government pick either ‘injustice, violence, and climate destruction—or a just and safe future for all of us.’
After the local rally, what’s described as a teach-in takes place at the library from 11:30 am to 1 pm.
Officials add the mobilizations are part of a global week of action, with people taking to the streets in 96 countries, while world leaders convene at the United Nations General Assembly.
