Shawn Allan Butchar

1968-2026

 It is with great sadness that the family of Shawn Allan Butchart announces his sudden passing at the NBRHC on Thursday April 23, 2026. Shawn’s entire family was at his bedside as he passed away peacefully. 

Shawn will be sadly missed by his partner, Tricia Hall. Cherished father to Breanne Perron-Butchart and step-father to Carson Hall-Corbeil and Dylan Hall-Archibald. Devoted son to Jeanne Butchart (Ian predeceased), they texted or spoke every day. Loving brother of Beverlee Griffith (Jeff) and Shannon Mascioli (Matt) and uncle to Krysten McVeety (Chris), Brent Griffith (Maddie), great uncle to Rory and Reece. Shawn will be fondly remembered by Bryan Hall (Audrey), brother in-law Terry Hall, sister in-law Tawnya Hall (Larry), and his many nieces and nephews.

Shawn always had a good time and had many great memories with his best friends Tim Wiggins and Ronnie Sue Young. He was known in the South River and Sundridge area as “Butch”; an easy-going guy, with a smile on his face and a kind heart. Shawn loved his Montreal Canadiens and enjoyed joking around with anyone who was a Leafs fan. Shawn, the long time Lumber Yard Manager of Kidd’s Home Hardware, will be sadly missed by his coworkers and customers.

The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the first responders and the CCU and ER staff at NBRHC for the excellent care. Special thanks to Dr. Leafloor and to nurses Daniella and Paula.
