With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Randall Edmond Sheppard, affectionately known as "Randy," at Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024. He was 86.

Born to a devoted family, Randy was the cherished husband of Lavona Margaret "Tiny" Sheppard (nee Morrow). He was a father filled with unconditional love for his children Brenda McGuirk (Kevin), the late Gail Sheppard (Brad), Roberta Reist (Rick), Ruby Third (Larry), Jack Sheppard (Angela), and stepchildren the late Terry Jacklin, Danny Jacklin (Sandra), Trina Smith (Kelly), and Tammy White (Steven). His legacy continues through his grandchildren Candice, Casey, Amanda, Shannon, Randee-Lynn, Karlee, Brian, Riley, Kaitlyn, Jamie, Rick, Haley, Alex, Sarah, Erin, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Randy was a supportive brother to Shirley, Donald, Lynn, Mary, Dale, and Rodney, and was predeceased by his brother Winston, first wife Monique, daughter Gail, and stepson Terry.  His professional life was distinguished by his roles as owner of Speedy Maintenance a Contractor with Bell Canada and later as the proprietor of Sheppard’s General Store in Corbeil. He dedicated 29 years as a School Board Trustee with the Near North School Board.

An esteemed member of the Masonic community, Randy served with the Sudbury Manitoulin Masonic Lodge #425, North Bay Masonic Lodge #617, and the Rorab Shrine Club. Beyond his professional and Masonic commitments, Randy was deeply committed to community service. He spent many years volunteering, particularly in raising funds for the Shriners Children's Hospital, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to helping others and enriching his community.

Visitation will be held at Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday, June 22nd, from 11 AM until the Masonic Service at 1:00 PM. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel of Martyn Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place, and Randy’s ashes will be interred at the Otter Lake Cemetery in Foley (near Parry Sound).
