Shillinglaw, Beverley
1954 - 2026
Beverley passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Center on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the age of 71 years surrounded by her loved ones. She was the loving wife of 52 years to Dennis Shillinglaw. Beloved mother of Derek (Ann) and Erin Deadman. Loved as Grandma BJ, she will be fondly remembered by her seven grandchildren Kamryn (Alex), Mackenzie, Adam, Paige, Kayla, Curtis, and Owen. She is also survived by her siblings Linda Bain, Kathy (Dave Bemrose) and Bobby Welsh (Donna). She was also a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Beverley was predeceased by her parents Robert and Beverley Welsh.
Beverley, also known as Bj, was the heart of our family, always there, always cheering us on. She was a true hockey grandma, spending countless weekends at tournaments and never missed a chance to support her grandchildren. Whether at cheer competitions, dance recitals, or volleyball courts, her love and pride knew no bounds.
Bj took great pride and loved her position as a legal secretary for over 50 years at Lucenti and Orlando. She valued her coworkers as her second family.
Bj loved spending time on Boyce Lake at the camp where many happy memories were formed with her family and friends, and many loud laughs were shared. She always took a night off from her usual post-dinner clean up to join all of us for the evening fish. We could always count on her to out-fish us! The grandkids always wanted to be in grandma's boat, knowing she would have plenty of special "treaters" packed just for them.
Bj was a kind and thoughtful person, someone you could always count on no matter the time or place. She gave so much of herself to those she loved and touched countless lives with her generosity and care. Words cannot fully express the impact she had as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, sister, and friend. Though she will be deeply missed, her love, strength, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
We would like to express our thanks to the compassionate ER and CCU staff at the North Bay Regional Health Center for their amazing care
In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre in memory of Beverley will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
