Shovels hitting the ground on The Breeze Beachfront Condos on Callander Bay

A boutique-style residential development two-and-a-half years in the making gets started later this week in Callander.
Officials are holding a groundbreaking Friday for The Breeze Beachfront Condos on Callander Bay.
Ryan Farquhar says he and his wife Erin have teamed up with Huntsville’s Greystone Project Management and others for the project, which is on the 800 block of Main Street, next to Sunbeam Bungalows.
“We have 38 units in the building,” he says. “It’s six storeys and we have now passed all the permits and approvals from the municipality. We’re really excited about it and what it’ll do for our community as well. A development such as this will increase the tax roll in the municipality to really help the budget for infrastructure improvements, and so on, in the future.”
Farquhar says the development also helps fill a need in the community.
“Many of the folks right now that are getting to that age where they’re looking to downsize, getting into a turn-key living situation where they can travel and not have to worry about maintenance of large properties and homes,” he says. “There’s a large demographic in Callander and in North Bay.”
The goal is to have the site prepped and the foundation in place in the next few weeks.
“It’s concrete from the ground straight up to the top,” says Farquhar. “They’ll pour the foundation before Christmas and then it’s pretty well a floor per month.”
He says construction will continue through all of 2026 with everything done by early 2027 and owners being able to move in.
Out of 38 units, only three are still available.
