‘Significant’ declines in job postings in Nipissing in June

Job postings in Nipissing were down month-over-month and year-over-year in June.
In fact, the Labour Market Group (LMG) says the 459 postings was significantly lower in both.
Compared to May, the decline was 18.6% while it was down 21.7% from June last year.
“This month, there were 230 unique employers; a decrease in month-over-month (-13.5%) comparisons, highlighting that there were not only fewer jobs but also fewer employers posting jobs,” states the June LMG Jobs Report.
The top five employers posting jobs include:
- North Bay Regional Health Centre
- Nipissing University
- Ontario Northland
- West Nipissing General Hospital
- Conseil Scolaire Catholique Franco-Nord
The top hiring industry was Health Care & Social Assistance, followed by Retail Trade.
Educational Services rounds out the top three.
