Significant Rainfall, Possible Freezing Rain, Snow this Weekend
Environment Canada issues Special Weather Statement
Significant rainfall possible with a risk of freezing rain, followed by a changeover to snow late Friday into the weekend. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.
Hazards include rain total amounts of 20 to 30 mm, with locally higher amounts possible and risk of freezing rain. Rain will transition to snow Saturday night and will continue into Sunday. Snowfall accumulation is possible through Sunday.
Rain begins overnight Friday. A risk of freezing rain will exist overnight Friday into Saturday morning, especially for locations along the Ottawa River Valley. Rainfall warnings may be required for some regions as the event approaches.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
