Snow Squall Warning
Environment Canada has issued a SNOW SQUALL WARNING
Monday 15 January 15th, 2024
Lake effect snow to affect portions of the region today.
Hazards10 to 20 cm of snow today, with additional accumulations possible include Tuesday and Wednesday. Peak snowfall rates possibly exceeding 5 cm per hour.
Significantly reduced visibility due to heavy snow and local blowing snow.
Beginning today, and possibly lasting into Wednesday.
Lake effect snow bands from Georgian Bay and Lake Huron are expected to affect portions of the North Bay - Nipissing and Killarney regions. The lake effect bands are expected to shift from time to time, but should persist into Wednesday for some regions.
Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
