- Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago
Snow squalls today.
Local snowfall accumulations of 15 to 25 cm by Monday morning.
Peak snowfall rates of 5 to 10 cm per hour.
Very poor to zero visibility at times in heavy snow.
This morning through Monday morning. Lake effect snow may continue through Tuesday morning for some areas.
An intense snow squall off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay will move south into the area this morning. This snow squall should move south of the area this afternoon. While there may be a lull in snowfall, northwesterly flow off Georgian Bay and Lake Huron will result in further lake effect snow by tonight. This lake effect snow may persist into Tuesday morning for some areas. As is common with snow squalls, snowfall amounts will be highly variable.
Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common.
