Solar Eclipse Advisory
On Monday April 8th, 2024 our region will experience a partial solar eclipse. While we are not in the path of totality, daylight will be affected from approximately 2PM to 4:30PM.
Looking directly at the uncovered sun without protection at this time can cause significant impacts to your vision. Regular sunglasses, homemade filters, or unfiltered cameras, binoculars, and telescopes should not be used to view the sun during an eclipse, as they do not offer enough protection to be considered safe, leading to serious eye damage or even blindness.
If employees are outdoors or if faculty have outdoor classes during the eclipse, please consider the safety tips provided by the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit website via the following link: https://www.myhealthunit.ca/en/news/solar-eclipse-advisory.aspx
