Something Magical and Unique
Column By Anne (St. Louis ) Gingras
Welcome February!
Are you feeling like me? Did January seem like it lasted an eternity? The good news is that February has arrived; we even get an extra day this year! How amazing is it that we have an additional 24 hours of life, complete with its ups and downs?
As we say goodbye to the old month and welcome a new one, let us take a moment to reflect on the past and look forward to the future. Starting a new month is a beautiful opportunity to begin again, set new goals, and chase new dreams. Some people might think that the beginning of a new month is just another day, but there is something magical and unique about it. It's a chance to start fresh and release negativity from the previous month. It's like a blank canvas waiting to be filled with vibrant colours and breathtaking scenery.
One of the most effective ways to embrace a new month is to set goals for yourself. Having a clear action plan can help you stay on track and motivated, whether it's a personal or professional goal. Write down your goals, visualize your success, and plan how to achieve them. It's essential to be realistic, set attainable goals, and challenge yourself to step outside your comfort zone. My goal is to do nothing new. I plan to relax, sleep and enjoy life as it is, at least for a while.
Another way to embrace a new month is to take the time for self-care activities. You can treat yourself to a spa day, a nature walk, or a cozy night with a good book. Taking care of your physical and mental health is crucial for overall well-being. We don't engage enough in such things for ourselves.
It's become a part of my daily routine to enjoy a cup of tea while reading a few pages of my book before going to sleep - it's a game changer! Finally, embrace a new month by trying something new and exciting. It could be something as simple as trying a new recipe or as adventurous as a skydiving lesson. Trying new things can be intimidating, but it's also a great way to grow and expand your horizons. On the other side of fear is extreme joy - so go ahead.
Try something different - continually adopting a beginner's mind. If you explore other things, you can recognize what you are passionate about. I'm researching how to size a kayak - and getting into shape to fit in one when Spring arrives. That means no butter tarts, though. That may be March's exploration, and honing the perfect butter tart pie recipe will be on this month's top list.
In conclusion, embracing a new month is a fantastic opportunity to start over, set new goals, and pursue new adventures. It's a chance to leave behind any negativity from the past and focus on the present and the future. So, please take a deep breath, embrace the new month with courage and enthusiasm, and make it a month to remember.
