Sunday Run/walk supporting families affected by blood cancers
By Brad Aubin
North Bay Steps for Hope this weekend.
It’s all in an effort to help raise funds for research and supporting families affected by blood cancers through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
That includes North Bay’s Lincoln Whitwell. The 5-year-old is currently fighting a rare form of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Family, friends and colleagues created the event.
Officials say the community has responded with incredible generosity, including a sponsored lunch from McDonald’s, local businesses donating prizes, services and supplies along with volunteers giving their time to help organize the event.
Steps for Hope takes place at Lee Park this Sunday (May 31) from 9 am to 2 pm.
There are 1km and 5km run or walk events, a community lunch, family activities, a 50/50 and more.
Officials say all proceeds will go directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
