Suspect Arrested by NBPS After Stolen Vehicle Reported
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) arrested a North Bay man after commercial vehicle was stolen from a downtown property.
On January 27, in the afternoon, the NBPS responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 500 block of Main Street East. The accused entered a commercial vehicle that had been left running at a job site and drove a short distance before stopping. The victim approached the stopped vehicle, at which point the accused fled on foot. Police located the accused a short distance away.
The accused, Dylan Laurin, 29-year-old male of North Bay, has been charged with the following offences:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Disguise with Intent
- Drive Motor Vehicle – No License (HTA)
“This incident had the potential to become very dangerous,” said A/Insp. Corrente. “Thanks to the quick actions of the victim, our patrol officers, and support from the community, the incident was resolved safely. The coordinated response led to a prompt arrest and helped ensure there was no further risk to public safety.”
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
