Suspect Arrested for Attempted U-Haul Theft

North Bay Police Service has arrested and charged a man following an attempted theft of a U-Haul vehicle at a local business.

At approximately 12:23 a.m. on July 28, 2025, police responded to a report of a suspicious person on a Lakeshore Drive property. The individual was observed on CCTV footage attempting to access vehicles on the lot and causing damage to a U-Haul cargo van. Officers reviewed the footage of the suspect and located other evidence at the scene.

Officers located the accused shortly after and arrested him without incident. He was transported to North Bay Police Service headquarters.

Christian Faulkner, 19-year-old of North Bay is charged with the following offences:

  • Attempt Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Fail to Comply with Probation

The accused was arrested and held for a bail hearing.

“The business owner acted swiftly, which allowed our officers to quickly respond, investigate, and locate the suspect within a short period of time,” said Inspector McFarlane of the North Bay Police Service. “This is a great example of how the community plays a key role in supporting public safety and effective policing. Prompt action played a key role in bringing this situation to a safe and timely resolution.”
