SYKES, Ethel Loreen “Dee”
It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Ethel Loreen (Dee) Sykes at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice on Monday February 16, 2026, at the age of 89 years.
Reunited with her husband Melvin, son Kenneth, long-time partner Alcide Mercier, brother Glenn, grandson Tyler, great granddaughter Harper, daughter -in-law Carole and other family members. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Darlene (Ron), son Wayne; grandchildren Jordan, Jenna, Kayla (Matt), Errin, Megan (Justin), Alanah (Niul); great grandchildren Riley, Nora, Noah, Kennyth and Bailee; brothers Clayton, Garry (Diane), Blair (Madeline) and families and extended family members.
Family was at the center of Dee’s life. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her immense joy. You will always be cherished, loved and remembered by your family.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Jinnah for her compassion and care, as well as the dedicated staff at Nipissing Serenity Hospice. The family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Saturday June 6th, 2026, between the hours of 11 am to 1 pm. A Memorial Prayer Service to honour Loreen’s life will be Held at 1 pm in the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel.
