TOURISM NORTH BAY LAUNCHES NEW CULINARY INITIATIVE

Tourism North Bay is excited to announce the launch of ‘Taste The Bay’, a new culinary initiative aimed at showcasing the city’s vibrant food and drink scene. This flavoursome program invites visitors and locals alike to indulge in a wide array of local culinary delights, offering a true taste of our diverse and flavourful northern offerings.

As of today, and throughout the month of February and March be sure to experience a ‘Winter Warmth’ prix fixe dinner menu thoughtfully curated by four local chefs. Valued between $35 to $60 (plus tax and gratuity) we invite you to discover, savour, and support our flourishing, local culinary scene at the following participating restaurants:

Average Joe's Eatery + Patio: year-round lakefront restaurant serving up a spicy winter menu

Cecil's Brewhouse + Kitchen: located Downtown North Bay and serving up deliciously diverse dishes paired with their in-house brewed beer

The Block Public House : farm-to-table eatery menu in a historic downtown setting

Churchill’s Prime Rib House: steps from Sunset Park on Lake Nipissing is this award-winning fine dinning restaurant

"We are thrilled to introduce ‘Taste The Bay’ as a way to not only support our local businesses but to offer an unforgettable culinary adventure for food lovers of all kinds," said Tanya Bédard, Executive Director of Tourism North Bay. "With the growing demand for unique and authentic travel experiences, ‘Taste The Bay’ provides an exciting opportunity to explore our city’s food scene in a new and interactive way."

The Winter Warmth prix fixe menu also coincides with other outdoor activities in North Bay which pairs for a fantastic evening out in the city:

Le Carnaval: Celebrating our francophone culture here in North Bay, Les Compagnons have a fun filled week of activities scheduled from 2nd February to 8th February.

Ice Follies: Northern Ontario’s premier biennial festival of contemporary and community-engaged art, set against the breathtaking frozen expanse of Lake Nipissing from February 7th to 21st. With the addition of two special live performances at Olmstead Beach on Trout Lake on February 15th and 16th from 7pm to 9pm.

SOMA: Gather with like-minded individuals who seek balance & rejuvenation and ignite your senses with the combination of fire (saunas) + ice (polar dip) + yoga + self care this February 15th on Trout Lake in front of Average Joe’s Eatery + Patio.

“The ultimate goal for ‘Taste The Bay’ is to grow the number of culinary products in the city, to not only increase the number of participating restaurants but to also eventually feature a range of dining experiences, from restaurant tours, to food and drink pairings, seasonal prix fixe events, cooking classes, chef-led experiences and so much more,” Ms. Bédard continued. “Taste The Bay promises to deliver something for every palate and aims to put North Bay on the map as a culinary destination while celebrating the rich food culture of the region.”

Tourism North Bay encourages everyone, from foodies to families, to explore and taste the vibrant flavors of our city, while supporting local businesses and discovering new favorites. For more information visit our website: https://www.tourismnorthbay.com/taste-the-bay/
