Teen succumbs to injuries following Saturday’s crash

By Brad Aubin

A second person has died following a two-vehicle crash in West Nipissing.

The OPP says officers responded to the incident shortly before midnight last Saturday.

A 62-year-old from Sudbury was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three occupants of the other vehicle were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries.

The OPP says a fourth occupant, a 15-year-old from West Nipissing, was later pronounced deceased at hospital.

The OPP says they’re aware of videos and other content circulating on social media about the incident and are asking everyone to consider the impact on the victims of the collision and their families before sharing or reposting. They add speculation and the circulation of such content can cause additional harm and may interfere with the integrity of the investigation.

According to the OPP, investigators have already received some video footage and are actively working to gather evidence, confirm details, and ensure the investigation remains objective and comprehensive. They’re thanking the community for their patience and understanding as this process continues.
