Tenant Arrested Following Significant Property Damage and Threats
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) has arrested a tenant following a report of significant property damage to a residential unit, as well as threats to harm the property owner and cause further damage to the unit and adjacent residential units.
On August 21, 2026, NBPS received a report of a tenant threatening to harm the property owner and damage the property and adjacent residential units at a multi-unit residence in the 500 block of Main Street East.
As a result of the investigation, officers determined that the residence had sustained significant damage that appeared to compromise the structural integrity of the building. The damage is estimated at approximately $90,000.
The accused, Christopher Ryan HODGES, 36-year-old male, of North Bay, has been charged with:
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Uttering Threats – Damage Property
- Occupant Injuring Building
“The Patrol Section conducted a thorough investigation and took appropriate steps in response to the significant damage sustained to the property and threats made against the property owner,” said Insp. Scott McFarlane. “Incidents like this undermine community safety and can have a lasting impact on neighbours and property owners.”
The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
