‘The Road to Convocation’ starts next week

We’re about to get a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a student-athlete on ‘The Road to Convocation’.

The new docuseries features Taijon Graham, Nipissing University alumnus and former Lakers basketball student-athlete.

It’s described as a raw and compelling look at the moments that shape the journey of student-athletes as they navigate the pivotal moments of their collegiate careers.

“This story is not just about a basketball team, it’s about family,” states a release.

Officials say several members of the team discuss their challenges in academic success, identity, financial struggle, and how racism in the community propelled Graham into becoming a prominent student leader.

He founded the Nipissing University Black Association for Student Expression (NUBASE).

Weekly episodes of ‘The Road to Convocation’ will air Oct. 2 to Oct. 23 on Bell Fibe TV1, a group of community channels.
