THOMAS, Peter Arthur
Peter rode his Harley into the sunset for the last time on Valentine's Day, 2024. He was greeted with open arms by his brother and best friend, Keith, a fellow Harley rider. Also there to welcome him home were his mom and dad, Geraldine (Irwin) and Arthur (Punch) Thomas.
Peter passed away suddenly, at the age of 74, at the NBRHC, surrounded by his family. He was the much-loved father of Andrew (Laura) and Matthew, and the very proud grandfather of Brady and Blake.
He will be deeply missed by his loving partner, Diane Bedard, and by his surviving siblings, Alanna Travers (John), Susan Aultman (Paul), Beth Brisson (Robert), Patti Vezina (Denis), Bill (Rozane), and Jim. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces. He was a quiet man who deeply valued his family.
Peter loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and cottager in his day. He started riding motorcycles at the age of 16 and logged thousands of miles along the way. He also spent countless hours exploring the back roads, scenery, and lakes around the area.
Family would like to invite friends to join them at The Grande Event Centre (Main Street, North Bay) on Saturday, February 24 between 1 and 4 pm to share stories and memories of Peter. This will be a casual get together as Peter would have wished.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to the NBRHC and especially to the staff in CCU for their outstanding care. As per Peter's wishes, cremation has taken place.
Should you desire, donations can be made in Peter's name to the North Bay Serenity Hospice or to a charity of your choice.
