Three area groups receive Ontario Trillium Foundation seed grants
The province says three area groups are receiving funding for innovative programs and services.
Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing, announced nearly $185,000 for OUTLoud North Bay, the Municipality of Powassan and Nipissing Serenity Hospice
“This support will enable these three organizations receiving funding to deliver essential programming and better serve the people of Nipissing, making a positive difference for years to come,” says Fedeli.
Over $91,000 goes to OUTLoud North Bay to co-design and test a one-year, low-barrier cooking and budgeting program helping people stretch food dollars and eat well.
“This grant is transformative for both our community and OUTLoud North Bay,” says Seth Compton, Executive Director. “It enables us to connect with youth and their families right where they are, break down barriers to healthy eating, and provide practical skills that truly improve everyday life.”
Powassan receives more than $63,000 to create a Master Recreation Plan.
“This funding will assist the Municipality of Powassan set goals on how we move forward providing recreation opportunities to the entire community,” says Mayor Peter McIsaac.
Nearly $30,000 goes to Nipissing Serenity Hospice to develop a comprehensive five-year strategic plan.
“This funding will allow our Hospice to complete strategic planning that will provide clear direction and guidance over the next five years, enabling proactive decision-making and enhancing operational efficiency,” says Gil Pharand, Executive Director. “This strategic planning ensures that our mission and vision are front and center and our values align with the communities that we serve.”
The funding comes from the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s seed grant stream.
