The Powassan Voodoos scored three unanswered third period goals en route to a 5-2 win over the visiting French River Rapids Friday in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action at the Powassan Sportsplex on Friday.

Alex Little led the way for the Voodoos, being credited with a goal and two assists, while Ryan Patrick contributed one of each.

Nolan Masson had tallied once and helped set-up another for the Rapids.

After a scoreless opening frame, the Voodoos got to work on an early second period power play as Little ripped a shot from the blue line through traffic and by Rapids starter Elijah Grant at 5:24.

The Rapids answered back on a turnover in the Voodoos zone and Dominic Bzdyl eluded Tyson Wilcox on a back door pass from Nolan Masson at 9:07.

Just over two minutes later, the Voodoos capitalized on a turnover during a Rapids power play as Little tipped a puck to Tucker Shields who beat Grant just past the midway point of the second at 9:36.

Another turnover at the blue line and the Rapids connected as Masson beat Wilcox to make it 2-2 only 45 seconds into the final frame.

Voodoos restored the lead as Dylan McElhinny fed Patrick and his quick shot slipped by Brady Dyer who replaced Grant after the Voodoos second tally at 8:11.

The Voodoos made it 4-2 on a nice feed coming around the net, Cameron Lemcke fed Chase Thompson at 15:18 on a power play.

Late in the third, Zach Turner was able to walk into the slot and his backhand beat Dyer for the 5-2 lead at 17:52 to round out the scoring.

Wilcox had a solid performance in collecting the victory while making a couple of highlight-reel saves for the home squad.

The win improves the Voodoos record to 33-18-1-2 while the Rapids drop to 9-43-1-1.
