Three-year tentative deal for CUPE hospital workers
The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) says it’s negotiated a new three-year contract with Ontario’s hospitals.
Union officials are recommending their members accept the tentative agreement with electronic ratification votes to be held on Saturday.
It includes general wage increases amounting to 6% over the three years, along with other vacation, dental and mental health benefits.
CUPE’s Ontario Council of Hospital Unions says it represents about 45,000 hospital workers across Ontario, including about a thousand at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
Negotiations began in mid-September with the union saying its main priorities were nurse-to-patient ratios, job security, and compensation.
