Timmins’ Lowe off to NCAA D-III Buffalo State
The Timmins Rock of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) have announced that forward Lucas Lowe has committed to attend Buffalo State University where he will attend school and play NCAA Division III hockey in the fall.
A four-year member of the Rock, the 20-year-old Lowe amassed 175 points in the NOJHL, in 198 games, on 55 goals and 120 assists.
This included a career single-season high 56 points in 2025-26 with his 44 helpers being the seventh-most in the NOJHL.
In his time in the league, Lowe’s assist numbers were the fifth-best among all skaters and his point totals were ninth overall.
The Toronto product also collected 30 playoff points in his career in 50 outings.
“Playing four seasons for us, Lucas was a big part of our of organization, including our 2023 championship team,” said Timmins head coach and general manager Brandon Perry.
“To say I am proud of the person he is, is a huge understatement,” Perry went on to offer.
“His commitment was a byproduct of hard work and a testament to his character.”
The Buffalo State Bengals are one of 10 schools who compete in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).
